Hon. (Prince) Wellington Oriade Adebawo, the Special Assistant to the Governor of Ondo State on Emergency Response, on Thursday October 30, 2025 visited Bolorunduro along the Akure- Owo Express Road following a tragic accident involving a heavy duty vehicle and a commercial vehicle.
Upon arrival, he immediately assessed the situation and ensured that emergency procedures were activated without delay.
He oversaw the evacuation of the injured victims and coordinated efforts to guarantee that they received prompt and appropriate medical treatment.
Hon. Adebawo emphasized the importance of swift emergency response in saving lives and providing critical support during crises. He berated how the victims were left for long by on-lookers, as some lost their lives in the process.
He said prompt intervention in emergency reflects the Ondo State Government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens and implored the people of the state to support the efforts of the government by playing the role of rescuing accident victims before the arrival of those who are professionally saddled with such responsibility.
The Nigerian Police, Road Safety and Civil Defense officials were also present at the scene, providing security, controlling traffic, and assisting in the preliminary findings regarding the cause of the accident. Hon. Adebawo commended their cooperation and urged continued synergy among security agencies, emergency responders, and the public.
He also used the opportunity to advise motorists to exercise caution, adhere to traffic regulations, and ensure road worthiness of their vehicles to prevent avoidable road mishaps.
